My Top 5 Favorite Things About the Holiday Season

Oh boy it’s December! It’s that time of the year again; the holiday season! I’m sure plenty of people have claimed December to be one of their favorite months out of the year. And to kick-off these festivities I have compiled a list of my top five favorite things about the holiday season. I hope you enjoy:

  1. The scents. Mm-mm-mm. I don’t know about you but nothing gives me more of a sense of comfort then walking into any craft store and being immediately, pummeled by the overwhelming scents of pine, cinnamon, and peppermint. Because nothing is better than the feeling of having your face shoved in a candle. I mean who doesn’t love the constant sneezing and scratchy throat? I know I love it.

  2. Baking. Aw man, all the nostalgia that’s brought with the warm aroma of those tasteless Christmas cookies. The crispy outside and soft gooey center. That mean nothing because that’s pretty much all thy are. A blast of cinnamon and grandmas denture cream filling your mouth. Delightful! The many burns make for a great story.

  3. The lights. Beautiful and bright, they line the gutters of every house on the street. Blinding shades of reds and green left on all night, sleeping through your windows while you attempt to get a few minutes of sleep. And even if you fall off your ladder while you’re hanging them up, wearing a cast gives everyone a chance to pretend the feel even the slightest amount of sympathy for you.

  4. The trees. O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree. Great, deep, green needles cover your branches. That is when you first buy it. Driving around making people think you have some sort of super boost with a trail of tiny needles behind you. The needles are a lovely decoration for your carpet. And if you don’t want a real tree you can spend three hours of family time trying to put a fake tree together.

  5. The Music. On December 1st, the sound of turning on the radio is so familiar. The sa,e five songs play on repeat 24/7 for a whole month. They really keep the holiday spirit warm in your heart. Holiday anthems play endlessly in your brain for 25 days. One week of Christmas music is never enough. The twenty five days of the same songs playing nonstop is the only real way to enjoy Christmas music.

Well that’s all I have for you. If you liked subscribe to the website, and let us know your favorite things about the holiday season.
