Get a Kick Out of This: 16-17 Soccer Season Rundown Our Firebird soccer teams have been blazing strong on the field throughout this season's chilly weather.

The season recently ended with the annual athletic banquet on February 23. Our girl's soccer team had kicked off the season with home games against Francis Parker and Bishops. They’ve also had away games against the White Tigers of Escondido Charter and Francis Parker. They tied with Pacific Ridge with a score of 1-1 and had their last home game against the SFC Eagles.

Our boy's soccer team carried out several wins this season and qualified for the CIF playoffs. They have brought home victories such as a 4-0 win against the Guajome Park Frogs towards the beginning of this month, Classical Academy with a score of 4-2, the Maranatha Eagles by 3-2, and their last home game against the White Tigers of Escondido Charter with a score of 4-3. Just recently, boys’ soccer won their first playoff game 3-0 and made it to the semifinals.

In addition, DLA’s rec soccer have been taking place in the gym this month. It’s been a tough competition as all 6 teams of around 10 players have going been neck to neck. The season ended with intense playoffs games in the first two weeks of March. Congratulations to Team 2 for being the winners of the season finale with a score of 5-1, and Team 3 for being the runner-ups.
