Lacrosse Season Begins for the DLA Firebirbirds!

Lacrosse season is almost upon Del Lago, and with this brings tryouts. Lacrosse is a semi-violent contact sport played with a rubber ball and sticks with nets on the end, called lacrosse sticks. There are ten players on each side of the field at any given time. Points are scored when a team flings the ball with their lacrosse stick into the other team's goal.

This year, girls lacrosse tryouts were held February 23rd. Coaching this season will be Kelsey Turner. Practices and Home games will be held up on the field. The Girls Lacrosse team will play their first game here at Del Lago on March 3, against the La Jolla Bishops. Boys lacrosse tryouts will be held Monday, February 27, coached by Taner Oner. Their first game will be away against the Sultans of Santana, on March 24. Both teams will play 10 other schools scattered from around the county, including Valley Center and Pacific Ridge.

Best of luck to both of our teams this Spring, Go Firebirds!
